WHAT IS HEREL?
Supporting Real Estate and Construction Lawyers in Higher Ed
Established in 2003 by lawyers from the University of Pennsylvania, Duke, Yale and Harvard, HEREL is an informal organization of lawyers committed to providing networking and high-quality CLE opportunities for attorneys who practice real estate and construction law at institutions of higher education. HEREL also welcomes participation by outside counsel who represent higher education institutions and by non-lawyer real estate professionals working in higher education.
The Higher Education Real Estate Lawyers Affinity Group
HEREL conferences attract real estate practitioners from a variety of higher education institutions including Ivy League members, large state systems, small and large public and private institutions and community college systems. The small-group setting of HEREL conferences, generally capped at around 50 participants, and the large percentage of conference participants who return to the conference year after year create a high level of camaraderie that facilitates a healthy exchange of ideas.
WHO ARE WE?
HEREL Members
Our members are attorneys and real estate professionals who work for institutions of higher education. Coming from over twenty states, HEREL members represent a variety of public and private universities and colleges as both in-house and outside legal counsel in the areas of real estate and construction law.
